This post is full of spoilers, you may or may not want to read the following post before you watch the episode!
So, I can't believe it, there are fans who found the post on episode 1 despite me not posting the link on social media, special thanks to all who commented!
I will start off by saying I enjoyed this episode! :) It was better than the first one for me. Though... I am really disappointed that Yohwan is out!!??!! ): I didn't think that I will be supporting him but then I thought that he was coming into this Grand Final as a upgraded version, think less trolling/betrayal, and will do well. ANDWAE [No, this can't be happening] Such a pity.
Haiz, both yohwan and yeonseung went to DeathMatch... Did I jinxed them by placing them on my winner's pick list? >< Hopefully not. How I wish all the players will get to play more games! This is the Grand Final, and I am pretty sure they will not get any chance to play again (unless they come back as helpers in the later episodes).
Side note, did anyone notice Kim Kyunghoon's fashion sense? Haha similar prints on his jacket last episode is now on his pants! O.O
Staying on topic of him, wow he is really the joke of the show.
): Sangmin's dog. It's rather rude isn't it... I am not sure but some korean shows will reference to dogs, showing resemblance between a person's appearance and the dog's. Odd. (he started the reference himself too right?)
Kyung Hoon is a such a character. I find it kinda attractive though haha. Also, so many people are working with Sangmin again? It's almost like the groups are predetermined already and they are sticking together...
I really like how this main match is played out actually. It's a dilemma kind of game and also plays on strategies. How all the players were trying to figure out the secret was not unexpected but they didn't quite crack it fully. Not that it helped that much in the game though.
I especially like the breakdown of alliances at the end by the commentator, it gives us another insight into how working with players that have the least garnets will play out. Also, Yoon Sun had no true alliance this episode, yet it played well and she earned herself 3 garnets! This is pretty impressive.
As for the Death Match, it is Tactical Yutnori, with the showdown of the 2 winner-helpers. I am shocked how the players understood how Jinho played/worked. I am really impressed by Dongmin's smarts in this game too. I think I was almost as disappointed and sorry for's Yohwan's loss as Jinho was. While they are rivals, it was really cool to see them work together as a pair. Too bad it didn't work out that well... )':
Now onto my winner picks.
With Yohwan out, I am feeling less certain about my choices! ): Everyone's so good. The following in no particular order.
- Kim Yoo Hyun (I think he is doing well so far, if he just show off a few outstanding moves, I see him doing absolutely well)
- Jang Dong Min (Just because I really like him haha)
- Choi Yeon Seung (Though I wonder why he joined the 3Mins group o.o he doesn't quite fit in there as a needed member. Survival instincts?)
- Hong Jin Ho (Finally, I am putting him in this list! I really like him omo)
Why I didn't choose the others:
Oh Hyun Min - I am sorry I placed him out of the top picks, he is really good but... he doesn't have enough like-able moments for now...
Lee Jun Seok - I think I want to place him in the above list, give me one more episode to decide...
Lim Yoon Sun - she has her own game, though I am not too sure about her social game yet... and she is an easy pick as DM opponent...
Lee Sang Min - He has one of the strongest social game, but not enough for me to support him as much.
Kim Kyung Ran - So far, her game isn't super worthy of any talk. She plays in a rather safe way I would say and that could be a good thing.
Choi Jung Moon - She is showing herself to be a worthy competitor this season but I'm not sure if she is better than some of the other players.
Kim Kyung Hoon - Maybe he needs to get over his image issue and play the game? Hahaha.
AHHHHHH actually I really want to support everyone, let them play an infinite number of games that will go on forever!!! It's so hard to choose who I want to support. ): I will really miss them when this season is over.

I'm really afraid for Jinho now. When he started to pick the coins, people said: "He knows something". I hoped that people could start to say this only in... 7th episode or something, because that's when people start to be wary of him. And when people are wary of him, they usually think of targeting him. But I'm really a bit frustrated... why the players are still teaming with Sangmin? I think that Sangmin's biggest ability is manipulating people. Yes, MANIPULATING. He's soooo good at this, and yet people continue to team with him. I have nothing against him, but it's so obvious that he is manipulating the flow to be on his side. My favorite players are Dongmin and Jinho. Dongmin is so smart, and the way he read Jinho and Yohwan's minds during Tactical Yutnori blowed my mind. It was so amazing! And Jinho is right: he NEED to change his way of playing, because people already know how he plays or thinks.

DeleteYep, you are right! I'm sure they all had the preconceived notions that Jinho is really good even before they saw the drawing of the coins. Just that what they saw "confirmed" their opinions. I think that after they see how good Dongmin was in the Deathmatch, they will be wary of him too, they might not show it, but such thoughts about getting rid of Jinho/Dongmin, so that they have a shot a winning, will likely be at the back of the heads. As much as we both don't like it, they have won before and the odds are most likely against them as of now.
Hahaha yea I thought so too, waa manipulating is a much stronger word than saying that he is a good social player, but to an extent I agree with you. However, I do think that they could just be teaming up with him to further their game first, especially in this episode with a garnet match. Since Sangmin already has an upper hand with 1 garnet more than most players, it's unlikely to see him fall and become the elimination candidate, hence they might as well just team up for now. I could be wrong but that's what I feel is going on.

ReplyDeleteI think I know how you feel. I felt this sense of loss and emptiness when Yohwan lost. Initially I thought that since Yohwan wouldn't make it far anyway, it's good that he gets eliminated early. I think Jinho's inner monologue made me sad. I hope that he'll get stronger as he now knows what caused this mini downfall.
Dongmin impressed me again. He was the one who discovered the difference in weights in Season 3 (the episode where the players have to mine for coals and bombs) and he did it again here. As for Jinho, I really thought he figured out the trick to the coins but it was hilarious when he revealed that it was a coincidence xD
I'm supporting Jinho all the way, but I think Dongmin will win. Or Sangmin. So difficult to choose!

DeleteThat's pretty much how I felt too. Yohwan dropping from 2nd place to 2nd to be eliminated is quite a difference, and yet I thought he started the game with a better outlook this time round. I'm thinking Jinho will change up his game after such a setback, which would be great! :)
Dongmin is so amazing here how he performs the unexpected (the crew didn't even thought that the slight weight differences will matter). Hahaha yes I thought so too his confession haha!

I have a soft spot for Jinho :') As for Sangmin and Dongmin, it's not that I support them because they won before, but more of them impressing me in this season. I hope that makes sense!

DeleteI'm so sad that yo hwan was eliminated! i do as well felt this emptiness. I really wanted to see more from him but its such a pity. Only is hyunmin had helped him lol. We wont get to see yo hwan obsession over hyunmin anymore,,, i was looking forward to it! Also, i just found out that Sangmin was a RAPPER LOL, im so surprised! And do anyone know if this Season is The LAST one? i hope not T.T

I saw in the promotional videos with some past contestants and the crew said that it's up in the air, and would depend on the ratings of this season. They didn't quite say it but they agreed with what the contestants prompted them with. I'm guessing since ratings are really important in SK, they will continue if the show is able to get a large enough audience. However, it is most likely that the players on this Grand Final season will not get to play again... (at least that's my theory haha) I hope it's not the last too! ><
